What is a traineeship?

A traineeship is a way that training and employment can be combined to deliver a Nationally Recognised qualification. This means that individuals can learn and earn money at the same time. Australian Apprenticeships offer opportunities for anyone working age to train, study and earn an income in a wide range of occupations and trades. Traineeships are a partnership between the Trainee, Employer and Registered Training Organisation (RTO).  Traineeships can be full time or part time and vary in duration, approximately 1-2 years.

Training and assessment is done at the place of employment. Employers/Supervisors play an integral role in mentoring and supervising their trainee. The ultimate goal of a Traineeship is to provide industry with professionals that are not only competent and work ready on course completion but who are dedicated and committed to delivering high quality work outcomes.
