Course Overview


A general qualification for the Warehousing and Storage Industry involving the receipt and storage of goods in warehouses. Candidates will advance their skills through electives in specialist groups of handling cargo and stock, equipment checking and maintenance, load handling, communications and calculations, resource management and quality systems.​

Learning Outcomes 

The TLI31616 Certificate III in Warehousing Operations provides students with the opportunity to learn the knowledge and skills required to work within the transport and warehousing industry. This qualification will accelerate your professional development in a growing and vibrant industry while also giving you the confidence to take then next step in your career within the industry. Planned learning outcomes include: 

  • Completing workplace orientation/induction procedures

  • Following Work health safety procedures 

  • Applying chain of responsibility legislation 

  • Using inventory systems for stock control 

  • Receival and despatch operations

  • Applying quality systems and monitoring workplace security procedures 

Entry Requirements


There are no pre-requisite entry requirements for this qualification. However, candidates must have a Unique Student Identifier and complete a LLN quiz upon entry.

Work placement Requirements  

Students must provide and wear closed-in shoes whilst on work experience. Please note that some workplaces require students to provide and wear specific clothing such as long pant, long sleeved shirts and steel cap boots.

Classroom Based

  • This course includes work experience that is arranged by Benchmark College.​


Employment Based Traineeship


  • Delivered fully on the job with workplace monitoring and assessment visits conducted by a Benchmark trainer

  • 12 months full time (part time traineeships also available, contact us for more information).

  • Location for the training is at the trainee's employer or host employer.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)


  • RPL is suitable for those that already have skills, knowledge and experience and may not need to be trained and can provide evidence of competence

Self-directed learning 


As part of your qualification, students are required to complete self-directed learning. In conjunction with the aloocated trainer/assessor, students will be advised of the required readings/videos to view/or websites to research as part of the subject (or unit).  Students will receive more information about this before commencing the course.



A range of assessment methods are used to give you the opportunity to show your skills in the best way possible. Assessment research and activities are part of the course requirements. These may include but are not limited to:
