ACCESS Program
What is the Access Program?
The Australian Apprenticeships Access Program (the ACCESS Program) helps job seekers get better skills and improves their chances of getting a traineeship. The Program provides job seekers with individualised pre-vocational training, job search and post-placement support. The Program helps participants gain and maintain a traineeship, other employment or further education.
What does it cost?
The Access Program is funded by the Australian Government and is free if you are eligible.
How do I know if I am eligible?
You must be a job seeker who:
- is a registered job seeker (with Centrelink) or has been referred by a Youth Connections provider or a Community Development Employment Project (CDEP) officer.
- meets at least one of a number of conditions, for example: a person who has been registered with Centrelink or Job Services Australia as unemployed for three months or more at the commencement of the pre-vocational training course, a person with disability or a sole parent or sole guardian receiving a Parenting Payment (Single).
What training does Benchmark provide?
You will receive nationally accredited training from the Certificate II in Business (BSB20107) in the following units:
- BSBCMM201A Communicate in the workplace
- BSBCUS301B Deliver and monitor a service to customers
- BSBIND201A Work effectively in a business environment
- BSBWRT301A Write simple documents
- BSBITU202A Create and use spreadsheets
- BSBOHS201A Participate in OHS processes
- BSBWOR203B Work effectively with others
- Job seeking skills (non-accredited)
- Interview techniques (non-accredited)
The Program will be conducted over 5 weeks and throughout this time, you are referred to interviews for any suitable traineeship positions that are available.
