Course Overview

The Certificate II in Community Services is an entry level qualification for those seeking a pathway into community services work such as aged care, disability and home and community care.

Possible job roles include:

  • Assistant community service worker
  • Home helper
  • Personal care assistant
  • Housekeeping assistant
  • Reception/front desk staff
  • Gardener/grounds person

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification.

 

Course Content

The Certificate II in Community Services is made up of 11 units which consists of 5 core units and 6 electives. 

Core Units
  • CHCCS211A Prepare for work in the community sector
  • CHCCOM201C Communicate with people accessing the services of the organisation
  • CHCORG201A Follow policies, procedures and programs of the organisation
  • CHCORG202C Work with others

 

AND only one of the following units:

  • HLTOHS200A Participate in OHS processes OR
  • CHCOHS312A Follow safety procedures for direct care work

Delivery Modes

Employment based traineeship
  • Delivered fully on the job with workplace monitoring and assessment visits conducted by a Benchmark trainer.
  • 12 months duration full time (part time traineeships also available).

  

Fees

Pathways

Qualifications that may be considered after successful completion may include Certificate III in Community Services Work, Certificate III in Disability, Certificate III in Aged Care, Certificate III in Children's Services, Certificate III in Home and Community Care.
